Basic IntensiveTraining

27 Hours over 4 Days 20 Hours over 3 Days

This seminar offers an introduction to the concepts of Choice Theory® and its applications through the use of Reality Therapy. Both are interwoven as a process inestablishing a more need-satisfying environment conducive to facilitating behavioural changes and emphasizes the qualities of leadership.

   27 Hours over 4 Days plus a 2-Day Practicum
Choice-makers© has been creative in offering in its ChoicePrograms  of Basic Intensive Training of four days plus two days of a basic practicum.  This 6-day program has proven to be effective in many parts of the world.
   20 Hours over 3 Days
Choice-makers© believes that the four-day intensive training provides the ideal time required for participants not only to explore depths of knowledge but also to provide sufficient practice to fine-tune skills.  Since there are those who wish alternate choices in today's busy world, The William Glasser Institute has offered its faculty a choice in offering the training in different formats.  Therefore, it is possible to offer 20 hours over a three-day period.  Ideally, then, this would link with a Basic Practicum of 30 hours face-to-face to insure optimal skill level.

CHOICE THEORY® maintains that:
        a)  all we do from birth to death is behave,

        b) almost all behaviour is chosen, and

        c) we are internally motivated to satisfy five basic needs that are built into our genetic structure: survival, love
and belonging, power, freedom and fun.

Choice Theory, with the Seven Caring Habits, replaces external control psychology and the Seven Deadly Habits.  External control, the present psychology of almost all people inthe world, is destructive to relationships. When used, it will destroy the ability of one or both to find satisfaction in that relationship and will result in a disconnection from each other. Being disconnected is the source of almost all human problems such as what is called mental illness, drug addiction, violence, crime, school failure, spousal abuse, to mention a few.  Register with Choice-Makers and enroll in one of our ChoicePrograms  today.

REALITY THERAPY
is the method of counselling that:

Dr. Glasser has been teaching since 1965. Reality therapy is firmly grounded in Choice Theory and its successful application is dependent on a strong understanding of choice theory.  This process helps people to make changes in their lives and also assists others to effect changes in their own behaviours.  It helps us to understand why we are doing what we 'do' and can be used in a variety of settings:  working in business, counselling and clinical counselling, social services, correctional services, classrooms and families.
Reality therapy training is available to anyone by beginning with the first step and registering for a Basic Intensive Training session through Jean at jeanseville@hotmail.com

There are two essential components to the process. The first is to create an environment conducive to change. The second is to employ procedures within that environment that lead a person to change his/her behaviour. The art of using the reality therapy approach is to weave these two components together in ways that lead a person to evaluate his/her life and make more effective choices. Why not sponsor one by contacting Jean through jeanseville@hotmail.com  In addition, please check out our Choice Culture group now on Facebook.

 Jean's Instructional Approach
is unique:

All sessions are highly practical and interactive whereby individuals begin to integrate and personalize their learning through a wide variety of involvement activities and discussion sessions. Participants are encouraged to share their ideas during dialogue sessions, all of which are key learning tools to bring everyone to the highest level of knowledge possible.  Creativity and fun abound!  Not to be missed!

Basic Practicum
30 Hours over 6-month period [Jean now offers online sessions through choicemakersonline.com. [Password protected

The purpose of the Basic Practicum is to assist the participant in becoming more familiar and comfortable with Choice Theory, Reality Therapy and Lead Management. Emphasis is placed on role-plays so that the participant gains sufficient experience and feedback in preparation for attendance at the Advanced Intensive Training.

Advanced Intensive Training  27 Hours over 4 Days or 20 Hours over 3 Days
The Advanced Intensive Training is primarily designed to afford the participant an opportunity to study Dr. Glasser's concepts in greater depth. The participant, during this training session, is expected to engage more actively in role-playing and the processing of role-plays. Participants increase their knowledge and understand more fully the interrelationship among various components of the process, as well as increase their understanding of Dr. Glasser's work.

Advanced Practicum  30 Hours over 6-month period [Jean now offers online sessions through choicemakersonline.com  [Password protected]
This phase prepares participants for attendance at Certification and provides opportunities for further integration. Participants concentrate on more intensive practice with role-play and learn more about how to provide feedback to other participants in a supportive learning environment. Each participant develops and practises a self-designed 15-minute presentation which teaches some aspect of Dr. Glasser's concepts. This presentation will be made to a small Certification group and is one of the requirements at Certification.

Certification Certification Process offered through The William Glasser Institute
The final phase of Reality Therapy Certification granted by The William Glasser Institute at various locations throughout North America and outlined on their web site. There are no educational prerequisites for attendance at a Basic Intensive Training and participants may proceed through the various phases at their own pace; however, the Certification process can be completed in a minimum of 18 months.
